The Storyteller

Welcome

I am Barbara Foster, aka The Storyteller.  I want to introduce you to my published books as well as my short stories.   I've been writing since a young girl and I have a great imagination which when it takes over, the fingers fly over the keyboard as a new story emerges.  I write Fiction, good clean fiction with a variety of a little romance, a little mystery and suspense and always a surprise .

I started writing short stories and while my two daughters were growing up, I wrote stories about their pets and our vacations.  But in 2003, my family encouraged me to write a story I'd been thinking about and to publish it.  CASSIE"S CLEARING was published in 2003 and with their encouragement as well as the many friends and customers who bought the book, I began writing in earnest and in 2004 I published A TIME FOR CHANGE.  That was followed in 2005 by THE LEWIS HOUSE SAGA.

In 2007, I published a book I'd thought about writing for years and after much research into police records and talking to family members, I wrote SUICIDE OR MURDER.  It is fiction, however it is based on a real life drama.

I've just recently published THE LEWIS FAMILY, the sequel to THE LEWIS HOUSE SAGA and I have just released THE SCOOP and CHITLINS TO CAVIAR.

I'm putting together a collection of my short stories which I may also publish.

Please take some time and look around and if you would like to purchase any of my books, please contact me at mailto:writer43@datzfast.com or from the information provided.  For international orders, please contact me for shipping information.

BIO INFORMATION:

Barbara was born in a small town in southwest Iowa in 1943,living in a small rural community surrounded by a large family and friends.  She had a great imagination as a child and says her storytelling must come from her mother and maternal grandmother as they both were storytellers.  She loves to write and see the words come to life on the paper.

She met her future husband in Wichita, Ks. in 1957 but the family moved to Independence, Mo. and it was after her graduation from high school in 1961, that she made contact with him and in November of that year, she married Harold.

They have two daughters, Melanie who lives in Oklahoma and Michele who lives in Arkansas, four grandchildren, Zach (18), Brianna (12), Hailey (10), Matthew (8).  They retired in 2005, moving to Lake Eufaula in Oklahoma to make their home.

Barbara spends several hours at the computer with her writing and when she isn't writing, she loves to crochet or work in her flower gardens.  She looks forward to spending time with her family when they can get together.

She has two dogs, Moke and Zoe and two indoor cats, Miss Kitty and Shadow.  Shadow is part Siamese and since she lost her beloved Siamese last year Shadow is filling that void, although Miss Kitty still thinks she is the boss.  She also has twin yellow outdoor cats.  An avid cat lover, she would like to have more but this is enough for now.

She loves the rural lifestyle and living at the lake and continues to write.
